How to Create & Paint Shaker Cabinet Doors

Change the look and feel of your kitchen by adding 1x4s to cabinet doors and drawer fronts in a shaker style. This is what the kitchen looked like before.

STEP 1

Take down your cabinet doors, remove all hardware, and sand them down on to the bare wood front and back.

STEP 2

Use the pattern in the photo and cut the 1x4s to the needed lengths. Rip the 1×4 thickness in half with a table saw. Attach the 1x4s with wood glue and clamps. Allow time to fully dry.

STEP 3

Paint the cabinet doors front and back, first with a coat of primer, then two coats of paint with your Flexio 590 sprayer. Allow time to fully dry.

STEP 4

Follow the same steps to paint the cabinet frames. Paint the cabinets inside and out, first with a coat of primer, then two coats of paint with your FLEXiO 3000 sprayer. Allow time to fully dry.

STEP 5

Add hardware.

STEP 6

Reinstall your new shaker style cabinet doors!
